Change in VAT rates under KVAT (Karnataka Value Added Tax Act, 2003) with effect from 1st August 2012.

The rate of tax under the Karnataka Value Added Tax Act, 2003 has been increased with effect from 1st August 2012.

The changes are as follows:

All goods currently taxable at 5% will be taxed at 5.5%

Goods currently taxable at 14% will be taxed at 14.5%

These rates are applicable from 1^st August 2012.
